Delete Your Account
You can delete your Taskaro account and all associated data directly inside the app. This is fully automated, takes effect immediately, and cannot be undone.
1. Delete Your Account Inside the App
The fastest way to delete your account is directly inside Taskaro:
- Open Taskaro on your device and make sure you are signed in with your Google account.
- Tap the Settings icon from the main screen or bottom navigation.
- Scroll to the Account section and find Delete Account, shown in red at the bottom of Settings.
- Tap Delete Account and confirm. This action is permanent and cannot be reversed.
2. What Data Is Deleted vs. Kept
When you delete your account, the following is permanently removed immediately:
- All tasks and sub-tasks (local device storage and Firebase Firestore)
- All notes (local device storage and Firebase Firestore)
- App preferences, such as theme and notification settings
- Your Firebase Authentication account
- Cached profile info: name, email, photo URL
A few things are retained by third-party services we use, under their own policies:
- Subscription and purchase history is kept by RevenueCat per their retention policy.
- Analytics events may be retained by Firebase/Google for up to 14 months.
- Crash reportshave their user ID cleared, but the crash logs themselves may be retained by Firebase Crashlytics per Google's policy.
Your Google account itself is not deleted, only your Taskaro account and the data Taskaro stored on your behalf. To delete your Google account, visit myaccount.google.com.
3. Can't Access the App? Request Manual Deletion
If you no longer have access to the app or your device, you can request account deletion by email. We process these requests within 30 days. Please include:
- The email address linked to your Google account in Taskaro
- Your Firebase UID, if known (found in app settings or a previous sign-in email)
- Subject line: "Taskaro Account Deletion Request"
4. Data Retention After Deletion
Data stored directly by Taskaro (tasks, notes, account info) is deleted immediately and permanently when you use the in-app Delete Account feature. Data held by third-party services follows those services' own retention policies:
- Firebase / Google: analytics events may be retained for up to 14 months, Crashlytics logs for up to 90 days. See Firebase Privacy.
- RevenueCat: purchase and subscription records are retained as required by financial regulations. See RevenueCat Privacy Policy.
We can't delete data held by third-party providers beyond our own systems. For requests about Google's data specifically, use Google's My Account privacy controls.
